Steve Wooten, KC0QMU, the Emergency Coordinator, presided at the monthly
meeting of the
St. Louis County ARES® group on
July 18, 2005.
Steve said that the group was trying to recruit more members, and was
advertising wherever it could. He noted that the group had a table
at the hamfest that had been held the day before in Washington, Missouri.
Steve explained that the group was in the process of incorporating so
that it could obtain tax free not-for-profit status.
Steve announced that St. Louis County ARES®
would be running another Resource Evaulation Test this coming October,
and that details would be posted on the group's Web site.
Steve mentioned that we would be performing an alternate repeater test
on 145.210, just after our regular net on Wednesday, July 20.
Steve was pleased to announce that group member Jim Conley, N0OBG, had
just been appointed as an ARRL Technical Specialist by the Missouri Section
Manager.
Steve wound up his announcements by saying that the group was always
looking for additional sources of funding.
Steve then introduced Roger Volk, K0GOB. Roger gave a presentation
on the Missouri Emergency Packet Network.
At the conclusion of the meeting a drawing was held, the prize being
an Arrow J-pole antenna.
