Minutes of the July 10, 2006 Meeting

Steve Wooten, KC0QMU, the Emergency Coordinator, presided at the monthly meeting of the St. Louis County ARES® group on July 10, 2006.

Steve said that the group currently had 57 members.

Steve mentioned that St. Louis County ARES® would have a table at the Washington hamfest on July 16, 2006.

Steve asked if anyone would be interested in joining the Planning Committee.

Steve recommended that all ARES® members regularly check the Team Members page on the group's Web site.

Steve noted that the Web site has a "resources" page and said that we are actively soliciting for information to put on it.

Steve asked if anyone had ideas for presentations at future meetings, or if there were any volunteers to talk at future meetings.

Steve read the Emergency Coordinator's report for June.

Steve reminded everyone that we'd like to put together a Survey Team to examine propagation characteristics throughout the county. Anyone wishing to be part of this team should contact Steve directly.

Steve read an announcement requesting volunteers for a mock terror attack on Busch Stadium on August 9, 2006.

Steve said that talks were underway with the St. Louis VA Medical Center about a possible relationship with ARES®.

Craig Hirsh, K0CMH, gave a presentation on antenna construction.
