Steve Wooten, KC0QMU, the Emergency Coordinator
presided over the monthly meeting of the
St. Louis County ARES® group on
July 14, 2008. The Meeting was held at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital.
Steve noted that the group now has 80 members.
Steve said that he had not heard anything from the VAMC regarding a
hospital-to-hospital radio test. He also did not know when radio
installation at the three VAMC clinics would take place.

non-standard ARES® card, but
the League wants to see the final version.
Steve described the purpose of the Planning Committee and invited
interested members to join.
Steve said that a digital exercise is in the works. Craig Klimczak, K4LSU,
gave more details on it. He said it would be something like a mini-field-day
and would take place around September or October.
Steve said that the group needed insurance to operate at parks and such
and asked for donations to help pay the premium.
Steve said that the group had tables at two recent Illinois hamfests.
It will also have tables at the Washington Hamfest in July, the St. Charles
Hamfest in August, and the Halloween Hamfest in October.
Dick Grady, N0JYU, asked for volunteers for the Moonlight Ramble.
Craig Klimczak said that he was working on operating procedures for the
Missouri Emergency Packet Network.
